Wow...he seems like an all around nice guy. Fred Smoot recently participated in a Redskins Charitable Foundation Redskins Read event, where he loaded and unloaded boxes of books for Rolling Ridge Elementary School in Sterling, VA.

Redskins Season Kickoff Party at Lotus

The Washington Redskins (Carlos Rogers, Fred Smoot and teammates) will be kicking off the season at Lotus (1420 K Street NW)

One of my play-friends (lol) DJ Alizay will be on the 1s and 2s so it should be a fun time! :)

It must have been the hottest spot in DC and not because of all the socialites, celebs and reporters/bloggers in the building. It was just HOT! In UDC's gymnasium (can we invest in central air conditioning please?!), the "Wizards" went up against the "Baltimore Bullets" to raise money and support Big Tigger's 7th Annual Celebrity Classic.

No one really cared who won...by the time everybody left we were just looking for the nearest air conditioner and snowball.

Recap: Wednesday night at Josephines | Spotted: Fred Smoot

After leaving the chilled out Park at 14th, I hopped over to Josephines (1008 Vermont Ave. NW) where I heard the Wizards were running through after they touched down from Cleveland. Although they didn't stay for long, Fred Smoot was running around and seemed to be enjoying himself.

Unlike The Park, Josephines was poppin' off last night (not to be misunderstood...The Park was chill but Josephines was poppin'). With ladies dancing on couches, drinks spilling and flirting until your cheeks hurt, Josephines was definitely the place to be.

The only bad thing about Josephines is that if you don't have a table then don't bother because there's no real place to stand and look cute. 

Oh yea...I found a fan! Shout out to homegirl who stopped me and said, "Are you the one who does DCFab?" Sorry hon, I forgot your name but didn't forget your luv.

Recap: Fred Smoot's Birthday at Josephines

::A BIG FAT SIGH:: What shall I say about last night...okay fine, the decor in Josephines (1008 Vermont Ave. NW) is breathtaking. Clap it up for the interior designer because I was in love with the chandeliers and the funky, retro chic wall paper. The place made you feel like you were some place besides McPherson Square, which is where all of the latest 'it' spots seem to be poppin' up.

Yes, the DC socialites (Patrice B. of ActiveRG.net, Queenie I see you mama!...Jason Moore...) were out as I warned you but where was Fred? 

Spotted were Clinton Portis who seemed to be buying shots for a couple of ladies but after the hoopla around him died down no could find good ole Fred...hmmm. Happy Birthday, I guess.

DJ Trini had me at hello but disappointed me by the end of the night. Perhaps because I'm an 80s baby...or maybe because I'm just too young to appreciate the classics but enough with the old school!!! If nobody is dancing...that's your cue. SWITCH! Still, the 30 and over crew was in there gettin' it like they finally got a babysitter to watch the kids all night. 

Shout out to 'baby Kimora', Audie who was in the place. (Congrats again on getting into Fordham Law!) 

Fred Smoot's Birthday at Josephines

Redskin's Fred Smoot's birthday is tomorrow (4.17) but he's celebrating tonight at Josephines (1008 Vermont NW).

If you've never been to the super chic lounge, try it out tonight as the DC socialites will be out. Joining them will be Smoot's teammates (Clinton Portis, Carlos Rogers and Santana Moss) as well as the Washington Wizards (Roger Mason).

Ladies, you're good all night but for the rest of you gentlemen, I'd advise arriving early. Doors open at 10...at least get there by midnight to toast to his birthday.

Happy Birthday Russ Parr!

Tomorrow night (4.11.08), Russ Parr, our favorite morning radio host is celebrating his birthday at Ibiza nightclub (1222 First Street NE). We all luv Russ and I wish him a wonderful birthday with many more to come.

Other special guests include Fred Smoot (Redskins), Jeff Blacksheer (Ravens), Lil Mo (who will be singing a special song to the birthday boy) and a special performance by Ryan Leslie who I think I just developed a crush on (because of his song Valentine).

Spotted: Rogers, Moss and more at Josephines

Carlos Rogers, Santana Moss, Fred Smoot, Roger Mason, Andray Blatche and Johnny Eubanks were all spotted at Josephines (1008 Vermont Ave) last night. So many ballers...hope there were enough groupies. 

And this is for Sasha: my new friends over at DCCityBlog reviewed this spot a couple of months ago...and I find their review quite comical...check it out! 

Spotted: Ne-Yo, Idris Elba and Redskins at K Street

The Hotboy DJ Quicksilva let me know that if you weren't in K Street last night you missed out on a star studded event!

Ne-yo, Idris Elba (also known as Stringer Bell from the Wire and the same Idris who has recently been asked to play Beyonce's hubbie in an upcoming film called Obsessed. B is also exec producing this film!), Fred Smoot (Washington Redskins) and Willis McGahee (Baltimore Ravens) were all parlayin' up in K Street Lounge (1301 K Street NW) last night.

When Endorsements Go Wrong

Dave & Ray along with DC's worst endorsement deal ever, Fred Smoot and his nasty lookin' "Smack Energy Bar" are hosting a party tommorow at Level II: at Steve's Bar Room. This party as three good things: (1) open bar (2) free food and (3) DJ Qic from BALTIMORE!!! (I used to have the biggest crush on him when he dj'd at Hammerjax)

Let's just hope Fred Smoot doesn't bring that gawd awful promotional truck. Click here to see what I mean...

Yo, Baltimore is actually lookin' promising...tommorow, Oct. 3 Sonar (407 E. Saratoga) is bringing the 2K Sports Bounce Tour, where Common and Q-Tip are headlining.

The organizers of this event promise a "next-gen videogame lounge" and a videogame tournament to accompany the music. That's kinda' hot. Plus Sonar itself is cool...it kinda' has a big club feel but also attracts the bar scene, completing the feel with pool tables and a long bar.

The same concert is coming to Love in DC on Friday, Oct. 5.

Stay Tuned...this weekend seems to be filling up quite nicely. Don't forget J. Holiday is trying to put us to bed tonight at Lotus!!

Last Night at 1223

I ain't gon lie y'all...I ain't see no Gloria Velez, no Antawn Jamison and no Deshawn Stevenson...hmm...false advertising? Perhaps...I did leave early tho' so who knows. I'm still waiting to see the pics from the nice photographer man Nik. (Shout out to him!)

Dag, I must say they got me because the promotion was on point. It hyped it up a lil much. The venue is nice, but after trecking up three flights of stairs, (my outta shape tail) was outta breath! Good thing there is a SEXY bartender there to help me quench my thirst. (And yes all the ladies were drunk and going ONLY to him to get their drinks. Some fat chick almost elbowed me to get to him...I hope she tipped him for all of that)

I love the decor of 1223. It's mad colorful, sorta' reminds me of K Street.

But they do not play around...I was trying to re-apply my lipgloss and the only open bathroom was the Men's. Some big body security guard quickly told me I had to wait for the Ladies. Whatever!

The whole night people were stuntin' for no reason...whether it was a guy telling me he'd buy me whatever I wanted if I would stop using 3-syllable words or this other dude showing me how many songs his iPhone held...I had had enough!

Go to 1223 Spank Wednesday's if you're African, a groupie or want to stunt...yea can't forget about the groupies...in full effect ( I even saw the chick that used to mess with DJ Strawberry. I guess they're on a break)!

p.s. I did see that damn Fred Smoot truck. A mess.

Ibiza (1222 First St. NE) is doing the most. Besides E'd up Diddy there on Thursday, they're having this 80's party on Friday thrown by Dave and Ray. They encourage gold chains, shell toes, Adidas track suits, Filas, Fur Kangols and the like...

I know one thing, they can't spell. If you gon' promote via email, let's use spell check!
