Is Vivid's Light Getting a Little Dim??

So, the DCFab! team was out and about and stumbled on a dud...

She writes, "So apparently Pasha (2147 P St. NW) is losing its ap
peal. [I don't know if] it's because of Love's (1350 Okie St. NW) new claim on Saturday nights or what...but either way, it's not looking too good for that spot. It's just not what it used to be, and they've consistently produced rather dull parties the last few times that I've attended. [I was] thoroughly unimpressed :("

Hmmm.
p.s. Oh calm down, it's one opinion. That's all.

Below are some pics from a person who definitely has a different opinion about this party...I damn near got cursed out over this! Jesus, keep me near the cross:

(Photo: Some Fab! socialites...luvin' the looks!)

(Photo: UMCP alum Chinedum is stylin' on emmmm...I see you in the suit boo!)

That's all.

Something like a Phenomenon at Pasha

I went to the club last night and reminded myself why I'm definitely a party girl (and if you're looking confused, yes, there is a difference). So. If you're looking for a party, try Pasha (2147 P St. NW) tonight.

I'll be honest, Pasha is a hit or miss...so proceed with caution. Go after 12 AM so you can at least chill on the 2nd floor...the first one doesn't offer many options besides sitting on the wall and who wants to sit on the wall?!

It's Vivid Fusion's third event of the year...let's just hope the rain doesn't scare people away!

Recap: Vivid Fusion at Pasha "The Encore"

So my sources finally gave up the goods regarding Vivid Fusion's encore event of the season, held last Saturday (1.19.08). Sources tell me that, "[Pasha] was good once it started to jump off around 12ish. The DJ finally got it together [and ]I liked the mix of music he played, from the new school to the old school...I would defineitly go back again! :)"

(Photo: How did I get on the flier??? Muna!!)

Yea, before DJ Goldenboy stepped in the building there was definitely some sound issues and as always with Pasha, the top floor was packed but the first floor remained...spacious. A source says, "We left around 3:30 after being on the top floor in VIP, but I think people downstairs left before then, because when we left know no one was there." Hmm...

Check their next party out...I hear it's supposed to be Feb. 2!

Saturday | DT at Cafe Asia | Flywire at Gallery | Vivid at Pasha | 18+ Love with DJ Khaled | Teedra Moses at Black Cat

Hopefully the snow won't keep us in the house this weekend because there is literally too much to do. From Silver Spring to downtown DC, there's something for everyone!

---

Of course, Dream Team has Cafe Asia (1720 Eye Street) on lock (at least on Saturdaysss) and they're paying homage to a man that made tremendous change in the lives of every American.

With their "I Have a Dream" party on Saturday (1.19.08) I guess you can two step and think about how much progress America has made, where racism doesn't exist anymore and separatism is a thing of the pasttttt ( I'm too cynical for my own good!)

---

Flywire hooked up with Cheeky Sasso Ent. to bring Flywire Saturdays to the Gallery (1115 East West Highway) in Silver Spring. Flywire is known heavily in Baltimore, not so much DC but maybe Flywire is trying to get more exposure. More power to them.

Cheeky throws very classy events so I'm sure every third Saturday at the Gallery will be completely grown and hopefully sexy.

---

Muna and Vivid Fusion (what does that mean anyway?!) had a very succesful party last Saturday (if you missed our Fab Correspondent Miss Aminata's review, click here) and he's trying to do it again this Saturday (1.19.08).

Same place, probably the same crowd...It's called "The Encore", how fitting. It's a nice time, I just hope they have the air conditioning on this time!

---

So, Marc Barnes decided to shut down his Thursday night party for the 18+ crew and give them some love on the weekend. Love (1350 Okie Street NW) will now be 18+ on Saturdays, giving Platinum some much needed competition.

It's called Dream Saturdays (perhaps a homage to the club, as it was once named Dream). DJ Khaled will be in the building (WE THE BESTTTT!) to help transform a once 21+ night to 18+. But don't worry, for those of us who are 'of age' the third floor will be dedicated to those who got ID.

Hope this works!

CALLING ALL TEEDRA MOSES FANS!!!!!!!

She'll be at Black Cat (1811 14th St.)  this Saturday (1.19.08). Doors open at 9 PM and tickets are $22. Click here to get some!

Here's Teedra performing "Take Me" at Black Cat back in April.

More to come...this weekend never ends!!!!!

Recap: Pasha Saturdays with Vivid Fusion

While there were several parties that conflicted with the much-anticipated "Premier" party, Muna and V.I.V.I.D. Fusion lived up to their reputation in providing an atmosphere that was bubbling with sophistication and fun.

(Photo: Outside of Pasha)

Muna brought a not so diverse crowd to the Moroccan themed restaurant. The event started promptly at 9 PM, still partygoers did not trickle in until after 12 AM, leaving the lower level awfully bleak.

(Photo: The first floor at Pasha, which never seemed to fill up)

Escape to the upper, VIP level which does not open until 12 AM (for shame!) and you're in for a treat. Many sources were overall satisfied with the party but they couldn't resist mentioning the unbearably warm climate of the lounge. A bit of ventilation never hurt anyone…believe me.

(Photo: Some VIP's enjoying themselves sans ventilation)

Drinks at the bar were a bit strong, but who's complaning and DJ Golden Boy is a recurring favorite!

All in all, I look forward to V.I.V.I.D's next event, "The Encore" (Saturday, Jan. 19, 2008).
