Chris Brown to get reality TV show?

Variety reports that DMV native Chris Breezy may be getting his own reality TV show.

The untitled Brown skein will center on the world of hip-hop and street dance culture, pitting contestants against one another in impromptu dance-offs. Brown will appear in every episode to help determine which B-boy or B-girl moves on to the next round.

[They] are developing the show as an hourlong performance series that will have an elimination episode as well. Brown would be at the center, although an as-yet-unnamed host and other judges may also be involved.

Series doesn't have a title, although "Chris Brown Presents" will likely be included in the name.

Spotted: Mad Celebs at Ibiza Nightclub

Spotted looking quite casual in Ibiza (1222 First Street NE) was Bow Wow who was shouting out Ray J and DJ Khaled on the mic. Also spotted in the building were Carmelo Anthony, Maino and DC's own Tabi Bonney. (Thanks Quick!!)

Essence Music Festival | Friday Night Concert

My time in the Nawlins was too short...and who told me to go to Bourbon on the 4th of July? A.Hot.Mess...I guess I'm too "yankee" for that experience and for some reason, I'd rather be that! :) 

Anyway, instead of doing the stereotypical fireworks on the 4th we snagged tickets to the Essence Music Festival thanks to my friend Emile. With a line-up that we've already seen this summer: J. Holiday, Rihanna, Chris Brown and Kanye we still decided it'd be better than standing outside in the muggy Nawlins weather so we went!

Missing J. Holiday on purpose, we walked in when Rihanna was on stage, which was perfect timing because we kinda' missed her set when she came to the DMV earlier this summer. She pretty much did a shorter version of her set. Still, what was up with the wack background dancers?

People really didn't get on their feet until her boyfriend Chris Brown hit the stage. Every teenage girl was screaming through most of his performance and although it was a family show, pelvic thrusts to songs like "Take You Down" made me wanna cover the 10 year old girl's eyes who was sitting in front of me. Her mama ain't mind tho. Besides dancing too long and wearing these gawd awful electric blue pants, Chris was much better than his (hush hush) girlfriend who lacked a lot of energy during her performance. 

Was I the only one pumped with Bow Wow came out to perform "Shorty Like Mine"?

I knew Kanye would ignite the stage but I wondered if he'd be able to pull it off without his elaborate set. I luvvv Kanye because (of course) he didn't disappoint. With the same energy as he had in Virginia, different lighting techniques and more of his hit singles, Kanye had me on my feet. Of course he had to perform his remix to "A Milli" and big upped Lil Wayne, which sent the Super Dome into a frenzy. I swear, Lil Wayne is like the mayor of the NO.

The concert didn't end until 1 AM. They should have started the concert earlier...even the biggest fan was getting a little sleepy in that cold Super Dome. Although I haven't been to an Essence Music Festival since Susan Taylor's tenure (I think Luther Vandross was headlining so it was a minute ago), this concert didn't disappoint...I kinda' miss Susan tho. 

Okay y'all...I'm back on vacation! :) 

p.s. Has anyone seen that new Jazmine Sullivan video? Hotness.

Recap: BET Awards 08 | DMVers Held It Down

Lots of DMV residents and/or natives were holding black people down worldwide at the BET Awards in Hollywood. And no matter how bootleg some of the performances were (i.e. Usher, SWV), we still tuned in to watch the awards. 

With mad shout outs to Obama, T-Pain's shenanigans and Ciara's hot performances (yes, plural), the BET Awards this year didn't measure up to years past when DMV native Mo'Nique hosted (DL! Why did you call Gospel singer Marvin Sapp, Warren Sapp...omg how embaresing and yes we did notice before you corrected yourself!).

DMV native, Missy Elliott won female hip-hop artist but wasn't there to collect it. However, Chris Breezy snagged the night's first award for best male R&B artist. And as it was one of the hottest performances of the night, here are some pics of C. Mini-Recap: Rihanna and Chris Brown in Love Nightclub

MediaTakeOut got the scoop from one of their fans on Chris Breezy and Rih-Rih up in Love nightclub (1350 Okie Street) after the concert. Chris was there "celebrating his birthday"...whatever, we all know the only reason why he was in DC was because of his boo.

The fan reports, "Some girl starts dancing in front of Chris and he didn't hesitate to continue. He started grinding all up on the floor with her. And ol' girl was getting low.

Rihanna had this look on her face like she was mad, and she gave him a little push, and I could tell something was up. So next thing you know [Rihanna] starts dancing all up on the guy, (and she wasn't bad) and I guess it was to make Chris jealous but he wasn't paying her no mind.

Then [Rihanna] stopped dancing with the guy, and just sat there looking dumb. [After a while] Chris left the girl he was dancing with, and then [the girl] left and I dont know where she went.

Chris ended up leaving the club with Rihanna, but I can tell she was mad."

Wow...they probably should just drop the mini-Jay Z and Beyonce act and admit that they're a couple...

*Update*: According to sources, Kanye had a private after party on the third floor of Love the same night. Spotted in the DJ booth singing his own songs (of course), sources say he left with seven chicks. Get em! 

Chris Brown and Up Close and Personal Tour at Patriot Center

Thanks to another Fab! correspondent, Kim, we got the hook up on some Chris Brown tickets as he performed last night at George Washington University's Patriot Center. 

Although none of us are under the age of 14 and not really Lil Mama or Souljah Boy fans (omg, I hate his new song...yaaah, trick? What?!) we got there just in time to see the angriest little man in rap, Bow Wow. 

He performed his hits half naked and the best part of his performance is when he brought out his boyfriend Omarion (I LUUUUV HIM!). But why, oh why did Omarion have jeans tighter than my skinny's! Omarion...yo...I don't even think his thighs could breath. But he still broke out that ultra-glittery shirt, trying to prove that he, in fact, is the King of Dance.

I beg to differ. Chris Brown came out and embarrassed Omarion for even thinking to call himself that. I don't know if it's his choreographer or what, but Chris Brown can dance his butt off! He's 18 now, so I can say he's even sexier in person and although he was singing along to most of his tracks, the boy can still sing and you know he was pumped cuz we were in V-A!!!!

I enjoyed myself...forgot the camera so no pics (sad face) but here's a clip from his performance last week. Same stuff, different city!!

Bowie State Homecoming 2007

I'll admit, I haven't been covering Bowie State's homecoming (am I hating? Not really)...so for all of you complaining, complain no more! It's nothing like Howard's homecoming but they try...

Tonight, Erykah Badu along with Trey Songs (I'm loving his new single) and Yung Joc will be performing on campus at the James Gym. The show starts at 8, doors open at 7 PM. Tickets are $35. Click here for more information.

Chris Brown, along with Bow Bow, Soulja Boy, Shop Boyz and Lil Mama will be at the 1st Mariner Arena in Baltimore on Sun., Dec. 9.

I feel like they'll be alotta' screaming, pre-pubescent girls here but I still wanna go.
