Places in DC to watch NBA Game 4

So my ladies up in Beantown, BostonFab!, are really excited about this series...obviously. Hit them up for recaps of what it feels like to have a team in the Finals. One day Wizards...one day! :)

Anyway, I know you're looking for some local hot spots to watch the game and I got them for ya:

1. The Park at 14th (920 14th Street NW). For one, everyone is going to be there...it's the place to be seen and socialize with DC socialites. And I can't forget the $5 cocktails and eats (lol, Emory hates that word). Oh yea, one must be fly to get in...ain't no half steppin' at The Park. Shout out to Nikki and Cassie who will be celebrating their birthday here! :)

2. RnR Lounge (717 6th Street NW). What's so special about this place is the rooftop lounge and today is the perfect day for it; not too hot and not too humid (gotta look out for all my girls with the natural press and curl!). Jeans and T are allowed...although some people do get fly. Ladies are free until 8 with free champagne from 9-10.

3. Adams Morgan (18th Street NW). This neighborhood is great for kicking back to watch the game. You don't have to wear a tight dress and heels to enjoy yourself...fellas you can rock those tennis you just copped. It's a chills time. My favorite bars are Felix (2406 18th St NW) and Lauriol Plaza (1835 18th St NW) and my fav place to get some grub in The Diner (2459 18th St NW). Try the meatloaf!!!

Recap: Lauriol Plaza does Cinco de Mayo

What did you do last night? If you weren't watching Gossip Girl then you should have been out celebrating Cinco de Mayo!! The city was buzzing with spirited pride...although I think most of us weren't of Mexican decent.

I decided I'd celebrate my Cinco de Mayo at one of DC's noted Tex Mex restaurant/bar, Lauriol Plaza. Walking up on Lauriol, it looked like the party was outside...It was crowded (you couldn't take a step without getting bumped into), and people were snacking on complimentary nachos while carrying around pitchers of frozen magaritas. We all know I'm an apple martini girl, but I decided I'd join the festivities with a frozen magarita of my own!

People waited for two hours to get seated somewhere inside or outside of Lauriol. I can't even remember how long we waited because we were too busy having a good time.

Everything worked: the bartenders were nice (a little flirtatious tho'), the people were friendly and wanted to mingle and even do the whole exchange of the business card thing.

Every ten seconds you heard people cheering from the rooftop; we were on the patio...(OMG, why did some randoms eat my quesadillas!!!! I was at another table chatting it up when I look over to see my quesadilla in somebody's mouth...I was salty.)

Still, I don't know if it was the frozen magaritas or the spirit of Mexico that made everyone so friendly but I'd definitely suggest stopping by LP next year!

p.s. the after party was at Fly (1802 Jefferson Pl NW)!

Happy Cinco de Mayo!

Yea!!!...another holiday that people only celebrate just to have an excuse to celebrate something!

Well, if you're looking for something festive, hop down to Cafe Citron (1343 Connecticut Avenue)...they have great mojitos and nachos with Salsa lessons downstairs for those who want to boogie...

You can even check out Lauriol Plaza(1835 18th St NW), the Fab! Spot of the Moment! This place is a staple and has some of the best Tex Mex in town.

And if you're young and on the Hill, go to La Loma (316 Massachusetts Avenue, NE). They have great margaritas, sangrias and of course your Tex Mex menu.

Lastly, check out Cactus Cantina (3300 Wisconsin Avenue, NW) apparently they have the best frozen magaritas in the District. I wouldn't know because I've never had them...but that's what they say! Oh yea and for only $6 per mug or $26/pitcher you can enjoy them in any flavor: Strawberry, peach and mango. Ya' can't beat that!

¡Quédese fabuloso!

Lauriol Plaza = Fab! Spot of the Moment

It was a great weekend to check out new spots and revisit old ones...Lauriol Plaza (1835 18th St NW) is a staple in the District, thanks to its amazing margaritas and rooftop deck.

So while you're wandering around 18th street stop by for some good Tex Mex. :)

It's definitely fab! approved.
