Kappa Alpha Psi Returns to UMD

If you don't know by now, the Theta Theta Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. is (FINALLY) returning to University of Maryland's campus tonight at 9:11 PM.

Rumored to be the hottest probate all season (well because they haven't been around in 10 years is it?), the entire Pan Hellenic Council is excited to see who the new members are.

Recap: UMD Homecoming Step Show 2008

I had the distinct pleasure of judging the 2008 Homecoming Step Show for the University of Maryland (my alma mater!). A sold out show in Ritchie Coliseum, next to Fraternity Row in College Park, the students, alumni and Greeks piled into the gymnasium to see some good old fashioned stepping.

Since the step show was canceled last year, it seemed like the students were hungry to show off their new moves and win the coveted $1,000 prize.

With host Terrence J of BET's 106 and Park and his protegee Malcolm Ray, the crowd was hype. My favorite part was when "Single Ladies" came on by Beyonce and this lovely thick girl got up and shook it better than B. Of course Terrence J hopped down to back it up with her...a typical and classic Terrence J moment. Oh and did I mention he gave me and the AKA judge, Patrice, a lapdance? :) Good times!


Still, he couldn't have gotten the crowd hype without DJ Travis Bond, a member of Omega Psi Phi. He had us singing our favorite old skool songs to our favorite show tunes and even the hottest tracks of the day.

Wale performed during the step show's half time...and because I was sitting on the front row I couldn't really tell if the crowd was feeling him but they definitely knew all the words to his songs. I just wish he woulda' pulled his pants up oveeeer his butt. Still, it was a pretty okay performance.

University of Maryland Homcoming Step Show

Tomorrow night please come join me in Ritchie Coliseum, right next to Frat Row for the 2008 Homecoming Step Show. Tickets are only $7 and BET's Terrence J will be hosting. UMD even has DMV's own Wale performing during halftime.

Doors open at 6 and the show starts at 7 (promptly, not CP time!!!!)

And you better come out because I'll be one of the judges!! Heeeeeyyyy...

Maryland Day 2008

CALLING ALL TERRAPINS AND FORMER TERRAPINS!!!!!!

I'm bigging up my alma mater in celebration of the 10th annual Maryland Day! It's a great time to visit the campus again, see old friends, hop down to ...well there's no more Lupos but Cornerstone and Sante Fe. 

The festivities go from 10 AM - 4 PM on Saturday. Bring the kiddies if you have those already. Shout out to the Class of 2007. The place hasn't been the same since...(oh yea and shout out to Nuevo, Dynamic, The Eclipse, anyone in the ARHU school and the Kappa Phi Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc!!!)

Due to it's lovely promotion (and I saw a picture of sexy Mark Barnes there last week) 1223 has convinced me to attend their "Spank Wednesdays" tommorow night.

Where the Groupies Will Be...

I've only been here once before and it was kinda' wack. They have very nice couches, complete with a velvet rope that make it appear that you're VIP...but anyone can sit there.

But, the open bar is super official and the bartender was so CUTE! When that T-Pain song came on I was singing straight to him...I forgot his name, otherwise I'd shout him out!!!!

The party is being hosted by Washington Wizards' Antawn Jamison & Deshawn Stevenson...does he really have on that overly tight 50 cent wife beater? Ew, take it off...

So Lotus (1420 K Street) relaxed its dress code in hopes of getting more partyers. They're having a Kanye v. 50 listening party tonight. Boo! How originaaaal.

So although my man Diddy was caught buying E (DONT DO DRUGS KIDS!)in Ibiza, he'll be in DC's own Ibiza on Thursday.

My baby does it again, Mark and Taz continue Love's Summer Concert Series with Young Jeezy...all the hoodrats I'm sure will be cheap and not buy a ticket but squeeze up on the 2nd floor to see him...

I'd be remiss if I didn't mention how at my beloved alma mater, University of Maryland, a noose was found outside of the Nyumburu Cultural Center (which is where all the black people hang out, work, have meetings and probates). What a shame! Is it 1947 or 2007? Pay Attention people...

Write a letter, organize a rally, start a REVOLUTION!
