TI Hosts Album Release Party at The Park

The sexiness that is T.I. will be promoting his new album "Paper Trail" that dropped today at The Park (920 14th Street NW) on Wednesday night.

Doors open at 5 PM.

T.I. will also be at Downtown Locker Room (1060 Brentwood Rd. NE)...excuse me, DTLR (they changed the name) at 6 PM to sign autographs and take pics.

T.I. and Hip Hop Caucus announce "Respect My Vote" Campaign

T.I. along with the Hip Hop Caucus, a non-partisan, non-profit launched the "Respect My Vote" campaign. This voter registration campaign is directed at young people who haven't necessarily gone to college as statistics show that young people who have higher education are more likely to register and then vote.

Rev. Lennox Yearwood introduces T.I. while also making a valid point that while the 1960s were revolutionary voters now need to be solutionary. Rev. Yearwood is also responsible for Diddy's "Vote or Die" campaign

T.I. in his southern twang and passionate voice, quieted the crowd saying, "I don't want you to leave here without getting the message." And T.I.'s message was clear: while clarifying that felons can also re-register and vote and that as U.S. citizens we must fulfill our obligation to this nation, T.I. did a great job encouraging the young people (who many of them looked TOO young to even vote!) to take an interest in this country.

Other Hip-Hop artists joined T.I. in the launch of this voter campaign including a blinged out Yung Berg, Young Steff, Pharoahe Monch, Wale, Pleasure P, Stephen Hill of BET and Dawn of Danity Kane, who to my surprise was the only female on the panel.

As if New York Avenue isn't crowded enough, on Friday night it was at a stand still because the King of the South, T.I., performed at Love (1350 Okie Street).

And I do mean stand still, it felt like Freaknic out there. Traffic was so horrible, I actually saw a dude get out of his car to holla at someone...hot mess. No place in town popped like Love on Friday night...no place! :)

Big Tigger and TI at Love tonight

Y'all know how I feel about Love (1350 Okie Street) or any big club for that matter...but I'd be lying if I didn't tell you it was the spot to be at tonight. 

Not only is The King gon' be there, Big Tigger is bringing lots of B and C list celebs to the spot for his Celebrity Basketball Classic, which goes down tomorrow.

There's plenty of lists to get on to get in free before 11 PM (click here, here and here) and don't be fooled and buy tickets to the 'concert'...just make sure you're on the 2nd floor when TI hits the stage :)
