Catching up with Taz Wube

Thanks to Shy Magazine, your girl sat down (well really I had to catch him real quick because dude stays busy) with Taz Wube.

Y'all know him as the Taz in Marc and Taz but he's also the marketing director at Love and one of the hardest working men in urban D.C. nightlife.

Read my article here! :)

Mini Recap: The Park at 14th...a typical Thursday night...

I stopped by The Park at Fourteenth last night and brought some newcomers along, my sister and our mutual friend.

Immediately impressed by the decor that for some reason makes you feel even more grown and sexier, they asked me do people dance here. I responded a quick, "no".

But boy was I wrong. I frequent this place during happy hour where the name of the game is locating and securing a table to eat off of their delicious menu (If you're hungry get the filet mignon, if you're not get the jerk chicken wings), perhaps exchanging a business card or two and sipping slowly on my martini just to make sure I can drive home later.

At night, the place livens up with everybody's drink fresh in their system and inhibitions...gone. I've never laughed so hard at grown men going crazy over a 50 Cent track.

Thank goodness it wasn't as packed as Thursday's past because I got to mingle a little bit more. I finally sat down with Taz Wube, to pick his brain (he's the marketing director at Love and responsible for many of the parties you go to...) about the future of the nightlife business and how he feels he stands out. I guess you'll hear more about that later...

An early night for me and mine, I spotted Raheem DeVaughn as I was leaving out. He loves that place.

Stay fab y'all! :)

eVIPlist.com got the exclusive pics of Jay-Z at Love nightclub. He stopped by after his performance at the Kennedy Center. Click here to read my recap!

Hov with a sweaty Taz and Bmore's own Kevin Liles. Luv him.

Proof that I was right when I told Mia that Jay-Z needed a shape up...look at the hype body getting pushed out the way by Jay's security guards lol.

Groupies and moupies, if you missed this then you missed out!

Look out for their next event in June...it's one you don't want to miss! :)

Recap: Plaxico Burress at The Park at 14th

Yesterday, Taz Events and NY Giants Plaxico Burgess hosted a night at The Park at Fourteenth. Because of The Park's strict closed door policy on Fridays (you must be on a guestlist to enter) it was many urbanites first time venturing here.

The venue is opulent to say the least...did I notice Chihuly sculptures serving as chandeliers? I think so! The Park makes you feel not only grown but quite sexy...speaking of grown, the crowd here was just that. The 30 and over club card was in full effect and so were the groupies.

(Photo: Plaxico settling in at The Park...look at homegirl's face beside him...lol...I want to know what she's looking at!)

We arrived before Mr. Burgess did. And after waiting almost 25 minutes to get our drinks thanks to the slow and confused bartender on the second floor, we settled in between the cocktail tables and DC urbanites. Then he walked in and a dark cloud of groupies swarmed...we escaped to the first floor.

(Photo: Taz of the famed Marz and Taz greeting Plaxico...some girl walked in my shot...I tried to salvage the picture...sorry y'all)

Before we left, we saw that Mr. Burgess had a full table filled with 6 bottles of Moet Rose and those little mini hamburgers that looked delish.

(Photo: Your girl, Joi-Marie with Taz...great party hon!)

Downstairs was a bit more chill...and last night, The Park felt more like a late night happy hour. Unlike other lounges, The Park was really all about kicking back and mingling.

Luved it!
