Labor Day Parties | The Conclusion

If you want to go out and party with a lot of grown and sexy people, check out the grand opening of Current (1215 CT. Ave NW). For more information about this 'autumn party' click here. This is a guaranteed winner.

The 'Hotboy' DJ Quicksilva will be at The Park at Fourteenth (920 14th Street NW). This is another great spot if you're looking for a more upscale and mature time! The party goes on here until 3:30 AM.  RSVP here by 4 PM to get VIP admission.

CALLING ALL JIM JONES' FANS! He'll be at Fur nightclub (33 Patterson St. NE) tonight.

Layla Lounge is having what they call International Sundays so expect a mixed crowd. With DJ Sexy and DJ Explosive on the 1s and 2s, expect a lot of salsa, merengue and reggaeton in this spot.

K Street Lounge (1301 K Street NW) has a premium open bar tonight from 9-11 PM. I'd start my night off here and hop over to some of the other happening parties in the city.

And of course, with the Republic (1355 U Street NW) trying to get back in the nightlife action, they're offering an open bar from 10-11 PM. My man, DJ Goldenboy will be on the 1s and 2s.

Where the party at?

Baltimore's own Mario (who was recently seen pants dropping up in New York) and Idris Elba will be live at Love Nightclub (1350 Okie Street) tonight. Let's just hope they've fixed the air conditioning...cuz that's not fab!

Tonight, 1223 (1223 CT Ave. NW) has an open bar from 9-11 PM.

K Street Lounge (1301 K Street NW) is also poppin' off with an open bar from 6-7 PM, that's perfect after work hours! The party goes until 2 AM!

Ibiza (1222 First St. NE) wants people to experience their rooftop. It's a little hot for all of that but I'm sure the temperature will be perfect tonight. And for all you mini-AKAs this party is 18+.

Humpday Hangouts

Tonight, the Talented 10th Society, along with many others are having a Centennial Reception at The Park at 14th (920 14th Street NW). The reception starts at 5 PM and it's free until 11 PM. I hear that tomorrow (sexy fine) Boris Kodjoe will be in the building...and guess where I'll be?

At K Street Lounge (1301 K Street NW) they're having their usual Wednesday night party with a premium open bar (which means any drink under $10) from 9-11 PM. You can never trust a Mad Power Unit open bar so bring your own money just in case the bartender doesn't know what you're talking about.

The swankiest party will probably be at Josephines (1008 Vermont Ave. NW) tonight. It's always poppin' on Wednesday with DC's most fabulous socialites and I'm sure tonight will be no exception. The party goes until 2 AM.

Fourth of July Fun | Thursday Events

BUT! Before I leave...of course I had to give you the rundown of what's poppin' while I'm away! (Be sure to send me all you comments, concerns, disappointments and praises of parties while I'm gone!)

Lookin' for something easy on the pockets? Try free! K Street Lounge (1301 K Street) is having a customer appreciation night thanks to The Usual Suspectz and J&K

Thursday night Cheeky is making Jin (2017 14th Street NW) pop off to get you ready for the "high holiday" (lol).  From 8-10 PM he'll have "vodka sampling" whatever that means. I mean the real question is, is that open bar or not?! :)

Of course, The Park (920 14th Street NW) has it's regular party going on...which should be more live than last week. Oh yea, $5 entrees are more like $10 entrees, don't be fooled. Still, it's a great crowd in a great atmosphere.

Station 9 (1438 U Street NW) looks very promising this week. HBO Def Poetry poet Asia (I don't remember him) will be in the building and they'll have drink specials and the like. Go here for a very chill evening although I heard on Saturday it was the 40 and older crowd in the building. Double boo.

For a more 'international' crowd, head to H20 (800 Water Street). They're having something for the Fourth of July holiday too.

Tonight, Electric Motion Systems and Media Bistro  are hosting an All-Media Party at K Street Lounge (1301 K Street NW) from 6- 8 PM.

The first 150 guests will receive a free drink. So if you're in the media business (sorry, they said NO interns!) bring your business cards and a friendly smile! :) RSVP here.

To read the many reviews of K Street Lounge, click here.

p.s. Interns, if you still want to hang out tonight. Head down the street to Lotus (1420 K Street NW). With no cover, they have drink specials and two-for-one sushi! :) At 10 PM they even have a Ciroc open bar. I'm going to Cafe Asia now to get my sushi fix. Holla!

Watch the Lakers v. Spurs in DC

If you're trying to watch the game like every other NBA male or if you're trying to find out where all the NBA obsessed males will be this evening, check out these two spots below:

K Street Lounge (1301 K Street) continues having Flirt Wednesdays. The game will be on their flat screen TVs this evening! They even have open bar from 9- 11 PM.

And 1223 (1223 CT. Ave NW) is usually known for poppin' off on Thursdays but tonight they're having what they call Riddim Wednesdays (how urban). Mecca aka Ready, Set, Go!!!, who is steady on the hype-man grind will be on the mic.

Get your hump day happy hour on!

Tonight at Play (1219 CT Ave.) they're giving away two VIP tickets to see Kanye West on Saturday, May 10 at Nissan Pavilion (I'm goingggg!)

Marc Barnes is hosting another evening at The Park (920 14th St.) tonight. There's no cover and this place is really swank so check it out!

I got a text saying that ladies are free all night at Josephines (1008 Vermont Ave.)

Last but not least, K Street Lounge (1301 K Street NW) always pops off on Wednesday. Ladies free until 12 but for everyone else it's $20. DJ Quicksilva will be on the 1s and 2s.

Stay fab! :)

Recap: K Street Lounge | Spotted: DeShawn, Caron and Seezins

Here's what the sources are saying:

By midnight, the line was long as usual. It was pretty much a stand still, with an average of two people going in per 30 minutes (WACK!). After realizing the 20$ cover (UGH!) we got in. After the long wait in line,  we expected it to be poppin'...but it was just mediocre and hood!!!!

Now that they've added tables and couches in the middle of the dance floor it creates even less space to dance. Of course as we were walking around we kept getting bumped into...it was very annoying.

The Washington Wizards showed up around 1 AM, including DeShawn Stevenson and Caron Butler. They sat at seperate tables. Oh and surprise, surprise the head groupie of the moment, Seezins from Flavor of Love (with her terrible weave and panty line) was dancing around Caron's table with two of her friends. Who does she date on the Wizards??? Hmmmm...

The music was cool as usual and our first round of drinks came to $22 ( I guess that's not too bad). At least the bartender was fast, but she wouldn't give me my card back until she realized that I tipped her appropriately. (Boo!)

Overall, the night was a 6 out of 10 and if we didn't make it into VIP, it would have been a 3. If you're not at a table, I don't suggest going to K Street (1350 K Street NW) on a Sunday night.

Day 26 at K Street Lounge on Wed!

They're not my favorite Bad Boy artists...not yet anyway (yes, I'm pressed on Diddy) but Day 26 will be at K Street Lounge (1301 K Street NW) on Wednesday night thanks to Mad Power Unit.

(Photo: Your girl, Joi-Marie with Will from Day 26 at Dwayne Wade's birthday party in Chicago last September)

'You'cap: Pharell and NERD at K Street Lounge

So you already know where I was this weekend (FM girl weekend in NYC...it wasn't too FM girl tho...oh well; next time?) but I kept my ear to the ground and here's what you missed:

Pharell Williams and N.E.R.D. showed up last night to K Street Lounge (1301 K Street NW). So yes, the rumors were true (Sorry Collin!) Also spotted were ballers Deshawn Stevenson, Antawn Jamison, Andray Blatche, Frank Walker (Ravens) and Derrick McPhearson (Giants) along with DC's own Wale celebrating his new record deal with Interscope records and DC's own '15 seconds of fame' Autumn Joi or Seezinz from Flavor of Love.

Hump Day Mini-Recaps | K Street | Play

Yup, I went out on Wednesday night...why not right? It seemed like everybodyyyyy in the District had the same idea cuz it was packed around town.

I don't know if it was Lebron or what but K Street Lounge (1301 K Street NW) was packed. I couldn't even get in...unless I wanted to buy a table for $500 and um, no. Thanks. They were doing "one in" | "one out" by 12:15 AM and you know that's the time I like to show up so...Still,  Andre Blatche (Washington Wizards) and Lamont Jordan (Oakland Raider and native of the DMV) were up in there...per usual.

OH! I almost forgot...why did sexy fine Leon stroll out of K Street...oh yes he did, looking like J.T. in the flesh! (That's a Five Heartbeats reference for the slow ones...)

Play Lounge (1219 CT Ave. NW) was the same scene, although at least here you could get in. Still, I don't think I've ever seen Play this packed and people seemed to be enjoying themselves...dancing on furniture and ish (didn't your momma teach you better?)

(Photo: The packedness that was Play)

Spotted: Ne-Yo, Idris Elba and Redskins at K Street

The Hotboy DJ Quicksilva let me know that if you weren't in K Street last night you missed out on a star studded event!

Ne-yo, Idris Elba (also known as Stringer Bell from the Wire and the same Idris who has recently been asked to play Beyonce's hubbie in an upcoming film called Obsessed. B is also exec producing this film!), Fred Smoot (Washington Redskins) and Willis McGahee (Baltimore Ravens) were all parlayin' up in K Street Lounge (1301 K Street NW) last night.

GROUPIE ALERT! ...I hear next week Lebron James will be in the building... GROUPIE ALERT!
(Don't say I didn't warn you...get your weave and lipgloss ready!)

Rocko at K Street Lounge Tonight

Although drunknmoney0981 called him a "sh!tty version of Lil Wayne" (which I thought was kind of funny), I love Rocko's new song "Umma Do Me". If you like the song too, he'll be at K Street Lounge (1301 K Street NW) tonight. Click here to get your free passes.

Mini Recap: Hypocrisy at K Street Lounge

Yes, I was a hypocrite and was up in K Street Lounge (1301 K St.) last night. I must say compared to the week before, I saw a complete turn around. First of all...there were people... and a lot of them!

I was kinda' mad that the door guy made us wait while he brought his car around to the front (yes, the door guy that drives the Jag...thanks yo! It was friggin' cold!)

I gotta' give a shout out to the tall guy (LOL, forgot his name) who kept my drinks coming...my apple martini wasn't even sipped half way down before he had another one in my hand...talking about I bought you this. No you didn't; it's OPEN BAR! More like brought... Still, thanks!

p.s. Shout out to Goldenboy!!!
