Martini and Lashes at Ozios

This event is really cute and I had to put it up early because you need advance tickets to participate in the "Martini and Lashes" benefit at Ozios Martini and Cigar Lounge (1813 M Street NW).

This event, which is being held on Thursday, Oct. 23, is will benefit a great organization called Dress for Success, which provides professional clothing and mentoring to women who are making the transition from welfare to work.

For $35, you'll get to sip on martinis, get false lash application and even a grab bag of goodies to get fresh and fly for the weekend. Click here to get tickets! :)

Oldies but no Goodies at Ozios

Tonight Trademark Entertainment along with others are trying to coax people into Ozio's (1813 M Street NW) to watch the playoffs on one of their 20 TV screens. But before you go, here are some things you should know...

(Photo: Ozio's sans smoke!)

I found myself in Ozio's last weekend...I got invited by a friend of a friend to celebrate former Terrapin Byron Mouton's birthday. Okay fine, I go because I'll know a lot of UMD heads...BUT I could barely breath due to all the cigars and cigarettes (it's a cigar lounge as well) and the whole place looked kinda of dirty. I don't know...something about the decor.

Lastly...well...this comes to no surprise that I was probably the youngest person in there (still lookin' fab of course) but what I'm trying to say here is that if you go here...don't expect much. It's a stark contrast to the shiny lounges popping up around McPherson and Franklin Squares...and I thought you couldn't smoke in DC anymore...boo.

Still, tonight DJ Trini will be in the building and at least it's free to get in.

Need a place to watch the Mayweather v. Hatton Fight??

If you need a place to watch the Mayweather v. Hatton fight this Saturday, I got you covered:

Love (1350 Okie Street) of course, has tables available.

NeYo
is hosting the fight party at H20 (800 Water St. SW) and if you get there before 10 you get complimentary wine and hor dourves.

And if you don't feel like coming into the city, go to Gallery (1115 East West Hightway) in Silver Spring. They have plasma tv screens and open bar until 10 PM. Also, DJ Quicksilver of WKYS will be in the building.

Lastly, Ozio's will have the fight on blast. You're free before 11 and $5 martini's all night. Heyyy...y'all know I love my apple martini.

Okay bye! I'll be in NYC this weekend. Catch me if you can! ;)

OMG Howard Homecoming Make It Stop!

I don't know how the rest of you District folk feel but I'm kinda' getting sick of Howard Homecoming already and the weekend isn't even here. All these outta' towners invading our city, thinkin' they're cute and toleratin' the fact that it's $40 to get into the club, when seriously...if they were throwing parties for college students they wouldn't be charging that much. It's crazy!

Thursday, Oct. 18, 2007

Still, I guess I'm tolerating the system by promoting these things:

I really need to go to Ozio's...last time I went it was alotta' fun. Since they moved to (1812) M Street, I haven't been. Still...I hear it has an upscale feel with a swanked out bar BUT no place to really chill, sit down and lounge.

The VIP floor is the best, of course, with faster service and more room to breathe. The 2nd floor is the dance floor but it still has tables for eating...which get all in the way.

I don't know, go see for yourself.

Saturday, Oct. 20, 2007

Still, sexy fine Tank will be at the Hyatt Regency on Capitol Hill (400 New Jersey Ave NW). They got three different dance floors so this actually might be the jump off...or at least a place to meet one. ;-) (Bad joke?)

mtvU is rewarding students this month. Talib Kweli could perform at your school if you click on the button below. The top 5 schools that demand Talib will have him show up at their school. The contest ends at 2PM PST on October 17th.

Peace and a bottle of hair grease!

What a weekend to go out...

Hot Fun in the City!

There's a lot going on in D.C. this weekend and the party starts early. The Saints v. Colts Kickoff game comes on tonight (Did I tell you my girl KEYSHIA COLE is singing the national anthem! I'll be watching!!!)...

Ozio's wants you to watch the game there. If you get bored you could always go to the strip club right beside it...Ronnie had too much fun there last week. (hmm)

Sexy Marc Barnes finally made a flyer for the HU v. HU after party at Love. Cute concept, cute man!

*

So I don't know how Ibiza (1222 First Street, NE ...down the street from raggedy Fur Nightclub) got anyone from UMD to promote this club...but they did! They club is actually HUGE! I think three floors with glass dancefloors so you can look up the girls skirts...some very cool lighting and an amazing rooftop lounge/bar. Too bad it was raining when I went but that didn't stop me. You should go but don't get lost inside.

These are the cutest flyers I've seen in a very long time from Republic Gardens. It's a Kanye West listening party TONIGHT. The party is co-hosted by the Alpha Iota chapter of APhiA (UMD Alpha's). G'job Eric and 'nem!

And in more important news, Former First Lady of DC, Effi Barry (Marion Barry's wife) died this morning around 4:30 AM in Anne Arundel County. She was 62. She will be missed.

Stay out but stay informed. Cya aroundddd!

ROUND 1: Mai Thai and G4

And the Winner is...G4

So I finally found someone who went to Cafe Asia, they said:

There was a $20 cover, which is a little pricy considering its not the hottest thing yet and EyeBar next door doesn't charge. The music was cool, hype man was cool, but the party never really jumped off. Bartenders were great (major plus in my book, kept me drinkin lol)! Lots of girls. Not the most attractive or interesting crowd. Then there were the models in panties serving people fruit. Sadly I'd prolly go again, cause I don't want to go to H20.

I'm ready for round two!

For All You Go-Go Headsssss...

Rare Essence, EU & Suttle Thoughts are at the Crystal City Hilton on Labor Day. I'm from Bmore so you know I won't be there...but I ain't hatin'.

Where the Groupies Will Be...

Roger Mason (Washington Wizards) needs his hair done. ASAP.

EKing is doin' her thing at K Street. I love their Wed. nights, you may see me there.

If you like to think ahead...

BCBG and Trademark Ent. throw a party at Ozio's on Thursday nights. It looks super grown (borderline OLD) and kinda' sexy. Check it out...cuz the DJ is oh-so-sexy, if you ask me.

The oh-so-sexy DJ. Look at them gunssss...

Aiight y'all, I'll see ya' tonight!
