Russ Parr Fired Revisited...

Okay so maybe the rumor is slightly true. We all know that Russ Parr is syndicated throughout the United States, so our fav morning show guy did get booted but only at Hot 102.7 in Detroit. (Boo! That's still wack.)

Indeed, they have replaced him with Ricky Smiley, who also has a syndicated morning show program called "Ricky Smiley Morning Show & Deez Nuts".

Fans of Parr's in Detriot have started an online petition to help get him back on the air although I doubt that'll do much...click here to show your support! :)

Russ Parr FIRED?!?!?!?!

Say it ain't so...Natasha of TheYBF.com is reporting that our funny morning show guy Russ Parr was fired from Radio One (is this why he hasn't been on the morning show all week...I swear I thought he was on vacation!!!!)

Natasha also reports that Ricky Smiley is temporarily replacing him.

She does note that others say that he isn't fired but will return on Monday and was off the air due to 'contract negotiations'.

Whatever the case may be, let's show our support for Russ Parr. I swear, he keeps my sanity in the morning...and the show really won't be the same without him. I luv 'Fredas, 'Qwana and SupaKen but I swear I'll listen to TJMS if he's gone for good!

Mini Recap: Russ Parr's Love for Sale has no ending!!!!

As I told you before, I couldn't make it out to Landmark Theater last night for the screening of Russ Parr's independent film Love for Sale but some DC Fab! fans did and they left...disappointed!!!!

Apparently, the actual movie was nice. N.W. described it as, "really cute...nice romantic comedy". But the "theater jerked us by making us leave two minutes before it was over! Everyone was heated! [Apparently] the employees were pressed to go home..."

That is a crying shame.

Russ Parr Directs Love For Sale

One of DC's top radio personalities, Russ Parr directed a new independent film called Love for Sale (view trailer).

The American Black Film Festival will screen this movie tomorrow (9.9.08) at the Landmark E Street Theatre (555 11th Street NE).

It's my favorite kind of movie, a romantic comedy and stars some of my favorites: Jason Weaver (I've had a crush on him since Summertime Switch), Jackie Long, Mya and Clifton Powell.

Tomorrow night (4.11.08), Russ Parr, our favorite morning radio host is celebrating his birthday at Ibiza nightclub (1222 First Street NE). We all luv Russ and I wish him a wonderful birthday with many more to come.

Other special guests include Fred Smoot (Redskins), Jeff Blacksheer (Ravens), Lil Mo (who will be singing a special song to the birthday boy) and a special performance by Ryan Leslie who I think I just developed a crush on (because of his song Valentine).

Looks like Ibiza is the happening nightspot on Friday nights...finally, we got something because Friday nights were falling off in the District. This Friday I hear it's Russ Parr's birthday and Ryan Leslie is set to perform his hit single "Diamond Girl". Does he have any fans yet?...still, he's kinda cute. It was such a puuuurty day, so if this isn't your thing why don't you try wandering around U Street. My fav spots to chill are Jin, Mocha Hut, Tabaq and Pure.
