Allen Iverson Goes to Court for Zanzibar Brawl

Of course this would happen at Zanzibar...hmmm...anyway, Allen Iverson will go to court to face charges that - not him but his security guard beat down a fellow party-goer, Gregory Broady, back in 2004.

Weird thing is that Iverson says he doesn't even remember going to Zanzibar or even bringing security with him and wanted the case to be thrown out.

Still, the club manager said Iverson was there...but it get's worse because the guy still doesn't have hard proof that it was Iverson's security that hit him. The judge is giving him a month to toughen up his case. (Boo.)

John Legend at The Park at 14th Tonight

CALLING ALL R&B HEADS!!!

Yes it's true, John Legend will be chillin' at The Park (920 14th Street NW) tonight. He's in town for a benefit at The Kennedy Center called "Africa Rising", where he'll be performing along with Jay-Z.

Allen Iverson just didn't want to leave DC after his celebrity weekend...I heard he was at Penthouse (3530 Georgia Ave NW) a week later still stuntin'...he's just having too much fun during the off season huh?

Is that you Steve Francis, who I heard was being a sour grape all night...idk but he's looking kinda' good.

Did I mention that sources spotted Riddick Bowe at Lucky Strike (Vernon invited celebs to come bowl with him at Lucky Strike in Chinatown); Caron Butler and Steve Francis partied with Vernon at Layla Lounge and D.C. Council members Vincent Gray and Carol Schwartz were seen at a Sunday brunch at the Park.

Honestly, I could have care less which football player celebrated his birthday and more about the drink selection at this weekend's most overrated party. I moved to Chocolate city not too long ago and all I've heard is, "Omigod, you HAVE to go to Love (1350 Okie Street NW)!" Well...I went and needless to say it was nice but it wasn't as "lovely" as I expected.

Don't get me wrong, the spacious four floor venue was rather impressive. The bouncers were pretty cool and if you made it to the third floor, you probably noticed that the music was progressively better. Contrary to popular belief, the ghetto people stayed home Friday night. I didn't see one "thug" or "baby mama" in the building. Aside from that, and the reasonably priced drinks, I've partied better in Atlanta.

Maybe the reason why I can't remember who hosted the party was because I saw Allen Iverson (who's been in DC for three weeks now...wtf is up with that) and Too $hort... Yes! My dude Too $hort was in the building and he PERFORMED! His 20 minute performance possibly shifted my semi-pessimistic perception on the evening. Whoever booked him...THANKS!!

This party was also the end of the AKA Centennial Celebration Weekend so the beautiful people were definitely in the building. And boy do "beautiful people" know how to throw back that booze.

My advice: If you've never been, go. Just don't expect to see pigs fly. And get on someone's list or get there early...

Spotted: AI Fighting in 1223

Apparently, Allen Iverson still in town from his celebrity classic that just happened last weekend was spotted in 1223 (1223 CT Ave. NW) last night. His entourage ended up getting into a brawl, all the while AI chilled and sipped on a beer. I guess he wasn't trying to get sued for NADA! I hear he was also spotted at Fly Lounge on Monday.

Also spotted at 1223 was Vanessa Bell Calloway, whose daughter Ashley is now on the hit BET series Baldwin Hills. She's so random...and how old is she...she all hanging out. I ain't mad momma! :)

AKA Centennial | Saturday's Hot Spots

This Saturday to welcome the ladies of Alpha Kappa Alpha, the bruhs are throwing "The P&G Exquisite Affair" (I'll refrain from catin' the bruhs out on this one). It should be a crowded good time with DJ Alizay and DJ Biz Markie on the 1s and 2s. The party goes until 3 AM at the Historical Society of Washington DC (801 K Street NW). Tickets are $50 (oh hell no) and are on sale here.

If you don't want to be totally surrounded by sorority girls, try being totally surrounded by groupies at H20 (800 Water St. SW). Allen Iverson and his celebrity friends are rumored to be in the building including Nelly, Clinton Portis, Anthony Anderson and Jason Campbell.

And thanks to my blogger friend D, I found out DMV native Tony "The Tiger" Thompson will fight one of the Klitschko brothers tonight on HBO in Germany.
