It's one of my favorite times of the year. And although the entire week consists of workshops, great lectures and the like, this is a socialite's blog so I'll just highlight the really good events/receptions (not the ones that require an RSVP, sorry) but I'll give you the skinny on the events open to the general public:>> WED: Young and Powerful: The Final Count Down at The Park at Fourteenth (920 14th Street NW)is a network and fundraising event for Presidential hopeful Barack Obama. RSVP here. From 6-9 PM there will be an open bar with appetizers served. Special invited guests include Mayor Adrian Fenty, Congresswoman Donna Edwards and Jeff Johnson, to name a few.
>>THURS: The Talented Tenth presents the "Nation's Young and Powerful Reception" at Jin (2017 14th Street NW) from 6-9 PM. RSVP here. Afterward, head to The Black Party at Ibiza (1222 First St. NE). The party goes until 1 AM.
>> FRI: Be Seen at Love (1350 Okie Street NW) where the reception starts at 6 PM. RSVP here.
>>SAT: The Movemakers and NBLSA are having a party called Be Powerful. It will go down at Layla Lounge (501 Morse Street NE). Doors open at 9 PM.
