Apparently, several advertisers including Industry Ears and CNN, Proctor and Gamble, Pepsi and General Motors pulled advertisements from BET because of content on television shows Rap City and 106 & Park.
BET, headquarted in DC, has long been the subject of 'corporate responsiblity', specifically toward the Black community (and I used the term black on purpose, as opposed to African-American...I can explain if you'd like. Shoot me an email).
Still, though BET execs like Debra Lee and Stephen Hill have long been personally targeted for content on BET airwaves, there has yet to be the same scrutiny on the top dawgs, Viacom, owner of BET.
