The celebration which marked the AVENUE REPORT's 1st anniversary was hands down a fab! event. From the choice of venue, the National Music Center (801 K Street, NW) to the overall atmosphere, AVENUE REPORT showed and proved that they intend to be a mainstay in the realm of Black media.

The featured artist of the night, Ryan Leslie ( his hit single is "Diamond Girl") took forever and a day to grace us with his presence, but he's excused...simply because he was more than willing to take a pic with your girl!

Oh and DC's finest, "The R&B Hippie NeoSoul RockStar", Raheem Devaughn was in the building looking rather dapper. LOVE(S) the shades!

It was more than a pleasure to mix and mingle with a plethora of Black businessmen and women, entrepreneurs and local party goers.

To top it off, University of MD alum and DC's very own DJ Alizay maintained crowd energy with the bangin' (pardon my vernacular) hits!

While it was a delight to see a lot of familiar faces...

...and new faces...

I was particularly excited to run into "Onyx" (yes, the one from I Love NY) who was very friendly, even after I thought he was Caron Butler...OOPS! :)

I asked one party goer how they were enjoying the event and she replied, "It's amazing to see so many of us come out to have a great time...I'm very proud of Avenue Report and I wish them much success!"

All in all, no complaints...

Special thanks to Ra-Fael Blanco, the VP Media Relations of 2R's Entertainment & Media, Inc. for allowing me to bring a friend ;)  Congrats to a successful night!
